Reflection

Well, since there's been a power cut here, I decided to pick up my journal. Not necessarily to write in it, but to reflect.

I started this journal in January 2023, when I knew that it was time to get 'the real' me back. Because life is too short to constantly be stuck in a highly anxious state, permanently stressed out, living in a glass half empty way (because I thought that was keeping my mental well-being safe, oh how wrong was I!).

I knew I had to make BIG changes. I had ideas, I just wasn't sure how to go about it and what exactly I needed to do. I started looking into manifestation (life changing!!!). Along the way my initial thoughts/ideas have changed slightly (for the better) or I've tweaked things. But the vast majority of my journey to becoming a successful holistic therapist is documented, for me to look back on whenever I choose (I say for me because half of it would NOT make sense to anyone else ). So many things I've written, manifested, have already happened and it's just made me feel a little giddy as I went back through it.

This is the second blog I've done about journaling. But really is such a fun, yet powerful tool. It is a healthy way to release any negative emotions you may have stored up inside of you, a 'brain dump', it can be a way of logging any goals you have achieved over time, it could be a tracker, a bucket list. A journal can be used for so many things. But the main thing I do love about it, is that I can look back and reflect on my journey so far. Things I've tried but that didn't quite feel right, so I changed my mind (or was it that the Universe had something better in mind?) There's wishes, goals, dreams that I had completely forgotten I had put in there and has since happened or I've achieved and I'm grateful beyond words, truly thankful. And I am so, so proud of myself.

Journaling doesn't have to be time consuming, it can take however long YOU want it to take. It doesn't have to be done daily, I've got pages where there is a couple of months missing. So what, the world hasn't stopped. My little journal just sits and waits for me when I'm good and ready. So what have you got to lose? Pick up a pen and see where your journaling journey takes you.
